It has become very common to find people addicted to video games, and more precisely one of them: World of Warcraft, or WOW. I personnaly never played this game, but i know people who are so addicted that they quit there studies to play.
Because i have been able to talk a lot with players, they told me what was so addicting. First of all, the game never ends, you always have a new level.  It is also a social game, where you can speak to other people and form "guilds". So you have a goal well defined, your social needs are filled, and you are in a world where the mistake is possible wich is very attracting and truly a plus compare to our world.
A lot of urban legend say that people died playing with that game, they forgot to eat, to sleep, to drink. i heard a story once about a boy who lost his account by mistake. He killed himself!
You can also buy the fake money of the game with real money. In fact, there is a big market of fake money in this game. People are also payed for playing with your account and put your character at a higher level.
