DEADWOOD

Today i would like to present you one of my favorite TV series: Deadwood. The series, created by David Milch for HBO, is taking place in the western United states, before it even was United states. Deadwood is just a camp of pioneers and doesn't have any civil status. There is no law, no mayor, no sheriff. People found gold in the area and Deadwood attracts many people. We follow the people who have an important role in the life of the camp.

The story fits very well to a series format since it transcribed the History of Deadwood, and through it, the History of America. Moreover, some characters of the Series are very famous Western Icones, and are related to the History of Deadwood: Calamity Jane, Wild Bill Hickok or Seth Bullock.
Season after season, we see the camp becoming a real city, with civil status, and we see how it somehow become organized.

I think that a key element of this series is the dialogues. They are very well written and very smart.
It is also very attractive for american people in particular because it is talking about them and about there History and how there nation was build, and it still interesting for us europeans too.

The main characteristic of this series has to be violence. It is every where, and it is difficult sometimes to say wich character is good and wich is bad.
