If we get back on time, before the disc man, before even the CD. There was a time where listen to music alone was considered as a shamful thing. Like if someone had seen you naked or taking drug. It's like when you are drunk, you are out of control. Today, of course, it is not like that, and everybody is walking with his music in the hears, no shame at all. But it is the end of a long process. With the apparition of the fist disc man, young people were showing their rejection of society by cutting themselves of it, listening to music in the street.

I don't think today it is this kind of posture that people have. We can see all kinds of people with their music in the ears, going to work. But I think the disc man was one of those technologies that changed attitudes. Today it is very normal to assume in public his individuality, it is even a kind of conformity to do it.
